JSON ↔ CSV Converter
Convert structured JSON into spreadsheet-ready CSV, or turn CSV tables into clean JSON. No uploads to a server. No signup.
How does JSON to CSV conversion work?
The converter reads an array of JSON objects, identifies the available keys, and creates CSV columns. Nested objects can be flattened into dot-separated column names. When converting CSV to JSON, the first row becomes the property names.
JSON to CSV example
Start with a JSON array containing objects:
[
{"name":"Alice","city":"Kolkata"},
{"name":"Bob","city":"Mumbai"}
]The converter produces a CSV table with column headers:
name,city
Alice,Kolkata
Bob,MumbaiCSV to JSON example
CSV headers become JSON property names. Each subsequent row becomes an object in the output array.
[
{
"name": "Alice",
"city": "Kolkata"
},
{
"name": "Bob",
"city": "Mumbai"
}
]Nested JSON and data types
Enable flattening to turn nested JSON properties into dot-separated CSV columns, such as address.city. If two properties produce the same flattened column name, the converter reports an error rather than silently overwriting data.
CSV does not store JSON data types. When converting CSV to JSON, this tool keeps cell values as strings, including numbers, booleans, and values with leading zeros. Quoted CSV fields can contain commas, quotation marks, and line breaks.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion runs in your browser using JavaScript.
Does CSV preserve JSON data types?
No. CSV contains text values, so numbers, booleans, and null values cannot be reliably reconstructed without additional type information.
